From Max Derrat:

"Back in 2015, I began to produce videos on what interested “me”. What began as an occasional hobby turned into a passion as I realized that there is always something new to learn, or when given the opportunity to teach and/or help others each and every day.

Originally, I was focused on video games and movies and took them at face value which is what we should be able to do at times; sit back, relax, enjoy and turn off the thought process, (if we are ever truly able to do so). Eventually my interest and research in psychology, philosophy and their effect on the world and, in this case, specifically the area of entertainment, led me to further research.

More recently, I have been drawn to the important topics of mental health and autism. Never has there been a more important time for us to be informed, raise awareness and support one another throughout the various challenges we are faced with in life.

Whatever we are experiencing, whether a disease, illness, tragedy, or devastating loss, there are countless people in this world who have had similar experiences. There is something truly powerful about the ability to connect, support and share these experiences and be able to encourage others and say, “It gets better.”

Remember, YOU deserve to be happy!"

Anxiety disorders can infect every aspect of your life. They can't necessarily be fixed, but one can learn to cope with them. Anxiety disorders can infect every aspect of your life. They can't necessarily be fixed, but one can learn to cope with them. I hope that by presenting what it is truly like to have an anxiety disorder, the wider world will aid us in our ability to cope.   If you know anybody that is suffering with an anxiety disorder and want to let them know you don't judge them, maybe consider sharing this video... with them, or just share it on your social media timeline. Maybe one day, we can get people to assume the best about us instead of assuming the worst when we have trouble controlling our symptoms.

YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS

WOULD MAX TAKE A CURE FOR AUTISM...

IF IT WERE AVAILABLE?

Max is regularly asked this but has never given a public answer until now. Short answer is "no, he wouldn't take a cure for autism", but there are certain circumstances that tempts him to change his answer.

In fact, there is one hypothetical scenario where he might say yes.

What scenario would that be? Listen on to find out.

ADHD

ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH ADHD?

Max has ADHD.

Like many of you, Max has tried many different interventions and support mechanisms to deal with ADHD (medication, psychologists, changing his diet, exercising). For the most part, none of those things helped to any great degree.

This video presents a relatively new coping method; One that has come about only in the last decade or so.   It's based around fMRI scans of the brain, and how it lights up depending on what activity you're doing.

Max will show you how the ADHD brain functions according to fMRI scans. He will also tell you how you can use that information to bend your brain to your will. Seriously.

AUTISM AND LOVE

Autism and Love

True love is rare. It's difficult for the average person to find it given the nature of human social interaction... but it's especially difficult for those who are biologically programmed to be socially awkward. This is especially true for people on the autism spectrum. When autistic people do find love (platonic, romantic or otherwise) they will do whatever they can to hold onto it. Unfortunately, this can lead to - sometimes - unpalatable behavior.

AUTISM & THE PANDEMIC

Many have messaged Max over the past 18 months, explaining about how the pandemic has been affecting their mental health. Uncertain about why it took him so long to review this topic he thought, "Better late than never". We are sure you will agree. Hopefully, by sharing his experiences, along with some of the experiences of others, Max can offer some compassion, understanding and validate the difficulties you have gone through, while reminding you that you are NOT alone.
